The Perfect Bridal Make Up

Every girl dreams of her wedding day as it is one of the most important days of our life. The best look for any bride is a fresh, natural look with a touch of glamour that emphasizes her best features. A bride’s makeup should be flawless and should last all day long. You can achieve this by following a few simple steps and with using the right makeup products for you.
The best thing you can do to ensure a flawless look is to hire a professional makeup artist for your bridal makeup – he/ she will know how to bring out your best features and hide your imperfections. If you want to do your makeup yourself, consult a makeup artist and ask for instructions on how to achieve the perfect bridal look.

A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY:

Get a facial approximately two weeks before the big day to cleanse your skin in deep and to help your skin glow.
Exfoliate your entire body in the shower the night before the wedding to remove dead skin cells and to soften your skin.
Exfoliate your face the night before the wedding but use a mild exfoliator appropriate for sensitive skin to avoid irritation.
Buy a lipstick – it should be the same you are going to wear on your wedding.
If you have a breakout just before the wedding, don’t panic. Apply witch hazel, Tea Tree Oil or a product containing Benzoyl Peroxide to dry out the pimple. Never, never squeeze a pimple a few days before your wedding to prevent un ugly red scar.

In the morning of your wedding exfoliate your lips with a toothbrush and a mild exfoliator. Apply lip balm or honey to keep your lips soft and moisturized.
If you wax your arms do it 3/ 5 days before the wedding to ugly red scars and irritation.
Do a hydrating mask the night before the wedding to give your skin a glow and fresh look.
Choose a nice perfume for your wedding day – it should be fresh and mild. Avoid strong scents.

Use a moisturizer

Use a moisturizer to prepare your skin for the makeup application. Take appropriate amount and apply it on the face and neck, avoiding eyes area. Dot moisturizer, an inch away from the eyes. Moisturizer applied prior to makeup will help to retain moisture and keep the skin smooth and supple. It will improve your skin quality and act as a protective layer to help trap the moisture in the skin and stop it from evaporation. Consider applying a makeup primer – using a makeup primer is the best way to make your makeup stay put on for longer. Its aim is to prepare the skin for the makeup application, it pampers the skin and create a protective base for longer- lasting, natural looking foundation application and wear. If your skin is very oily apply a shine controlling gel, such as LancГґme Pure Focus Shine Control Gel – apply it to the T zone / forehead, chin and nose/. Choose a moisturizer with SPF at least 15, especially if you are getting married outdoors.

Use a concealer

Using a concealer is the key to looking good in your wedding photographs. With the help of a concealer you can hide dark circles under the eyes, redness, dark spots, small pimples, scars. Look for a cream-based and oil-based concealer as it is easier to apply and won’t look unnatural. Apply the concealer only to the problem areas – never apply it to the entire face in place of a foundation. Make sure the concealer matches your skin tone / it should never be darker that the foundation/. Apply it with a small makeup brush or with your finger and blend carefully with a sponge. If you want to hide dark circles under the eyes use a lighter concealer – lightly dab some concealer along the bottom of the eyes and blend. Be very careful when applying concealer because if you apply too much your face may look overly made-up and fake and that’s something that isn’t good on your wedding day.

Apply foundation

A foundation is a must for a bride’s makeup. The foundation should match your natural skin tone exactly – it should be one tone lighter or darker to create an even skin tone. It should be sheer to even out your skin tone, providing a good coverage at the same time. Avoid using too heavy foundation as it may look cakey and more obvious. If your skin is combination or oily use oil-free foundation designed especially for oily skin that will create a matte finish and will absorb the excess oil secretion. If your skin is dry use a water or oil-based foundation in a creamy formula.
The best way to apply the foundation is using a makeup sponge or your fingertips. Dot foundation on your cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Start with a small amount, blending as you go. Blend very careful – make sure everything blends together and looks the same. This time I won’t recommend you to apply foundation to the neck and dГ©colletage as the foundation can easily stain your wedding dress, just make sure the foundation matches your skin tone and that there are no hard lines. Don’t choose a foundation with light-reflecting pigments as your face may look oily in your wedding photographs.

Use a powder to set your makeup
Use translucent powder to set your makeup and to prevent any unwanted shine during your wedding. Apply the powder after the concealer and the foundation and before the blush. Use a brush to apply the powder evenly. Spread the powder all over your face to get a matte effect. Don’t apply powder with a puff as you may apply too much which may lead to excessive oiliness, resulting in “shiny face in photos“. Again don’t apply powder to your neck and dГ©colletage but make sure it looks natural. Reapply powder throughout the day to remove any excess shine. Avoid using powder with glittery finish, a powder with a matte finish will stay put all day long.

Use blush
Applying blush is a must for every bride. It brings a glow to the face, giving a warm, healthy flush. Make sure the blush matches your natural skin tone. Remember the golden rules: pink for fair skin, rosy for darker skin.
If your base is applied properly, just a small amount of a blush will be all that’s needed. Apply the blush with a blush brush and start the application with soft circular motions from the centre of the cheeks out. I recommend you to use a powder blush as it last longer than cream blush and look more natural.

EYE MAKEUP:

Curl your eyelashes
Nothing widens and opens the eyes like curling the lashes, even if you do only the tips, so curl the lashes before applying mascara. Curling your eyelashes using an eyelash curler makes your eyes look wider, brighter and longer and doesn’t make your lashes look fake. Position your eyelash curler around your eyelashes –
the upper lashes must be between the edges of the curler. Carefully squeeze the edges of the eyelash curler together and hold for a few seconds. Gently release the curler from the lashes and repeat again if necessarily. Always make sure that the curler is fully open before removing it.

Take care of your eyebrows
Use a brow comb to brush your eyebrows. Fill in gaps using a light brow pencil. Try to keep your eyebrows as natural as possible.

Apply an eye shadow base

The best way to make your eye shadows stay put on for longer is using an eyeshadow base. Eyeshadow bases are nude eye base that glides on over the eyelid and create a perfect base for the eye shadow application. They usually come in gel, powder and cream formula. The eyeshadow bases stop your shadows from smudging, streaking and creasing by increasing the lasting-power of your shadows. A good eyeshadow base not only prevents your shadows from creasing but also aids in blending the eyeshadows to perfection. They intensify your shadow and make it stay put on for longer. To apply an eyeshadow base dab on lightly and blend evenly over the entire lid using a brush or your fingertips.

Apply eyeshadows

Your eyes are the most noticeable point of your face, especially during your wedding day. For a perfect wedding makeup look for a matte eye shadows. The best colors for a wedding are peach, coral, soft pink and light browns.
Use powder eye shadows as they last longer that the creamy shadows because they tend to melt into crease lines of the eyelids. Remember the golden rule: if you concentrate on the eyes, keep your lips light. You eye makeup should be soft and natural which means no smoky eyes, no heavy dark lines.

Apply the eye shadows with a flat tipped brush. Blend base color with a large brush. Sweep the lightest shade over the entire lid from the lash line to the brow line to create a smudge resistant base. After applying the base color and the lightest shade of eyeshadow, apply the second color on the lower lid and blend it into your base color. The color should go over the entire lid and just above the crease.

Apply eyeliner

If you want to emphasize your eyes even more you should apply eyeliner, but keep it soft and smudged. When using eyeliner you can change your eyes’ shape and fill in the sparse looking lashes. Depending on its texture the eyeliner can be softly smudged or clearly defined. To apply liner to your upper lash line, tip your head back and look down into a mirror. Rest the pencil tip onto the lash line and push between your lashes, moving from the inner corners of the eyes outwards. Avoid the old habit of drawing a harsh fine line and flicking it at the outer corners.

Apply mascara

Using a waterproof mascara is a must for a bride as brides always cry on their “I do“. The mascara will emphasize your eyes and will give them definition. Apply a powder to the lashes, this will give your lashes volume and will allow the mascara to stay longer. Look down into a mirror and stroke lashes upwards with just the tip of the brush. Always brush the lashes from above and then upwards from below to get the both sides of the lashes. First apply a thin coat, lit it dry and then build up with a second coat of mascara. When applying mascara to the lower lashes, gently brush the tip of the applicator across them. Always allow the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. At the end comb the lashes to separate the hairs and to remove the excess mascara. Choose black or brown mascara for your wedding day and avoid blue or green as it isn’t appropriate for such an event.

Apply lipstick

Use powder or a little bit of a foundation to make your lipstick stay put on for longer. Applying a dusting of powder or a bit of foundation to the lips helps maximize the lipstick’s staying power. Outline your lips with a lip pencil to keep the color from bleeding. The lip pencil allows your lipstick or lip gloss to last longer by creating a base for your lipstick. Use a lip pencil a shade darker than your lipstick color. Start drawing at the centre of your upper lip and slowly move to the centre of the bottom lip.
Don’t forget to line the corners of your mouth. I personally think that a lipstick should always be applied with a brush – the brush maximize the lipstick’s staying powder and provides an even application.
Run the brush on the lipstick from side to side so that it has enough lipstick on it. Always start the lipstick application at the centre of your lips. Open your mouth slightly and brush on color starting from the centre of your lips to the corners.

Nails
I think that the best choice for a bride on her wedding day is French manicure as it looks classy and elegant. Have your manicure professionally done the day before your wedding. Don’t polish your nails in dark, blue or green varnish.
